If bone loss has put implants out of reach, grafting can rebuild the foundation you need.
(5-star rating from our smiling customers.)

Bone grafting is a procedure that adds bone material to an area of the jaw where bone has been lost, rebuilding the volume and density needed to place a dental implant securely.
Graft material can come from several sources including donor bone, bovine bone, or synthetic material. Over time your body integrates it, forming new bone that provides the stable foundation required for long-term implant success. Up to 50% of implant cases involve some form of bone grafting.

Consultation and Planning
We use cone beam CT imaging to measure the existing bone volume, identify where grafting is needed, and determine the type and amount of graft material required for your specific case.

Graft material is placed directly into the deficient area under local anesthesia. A membrane is often placed over the graft to protect it and guide new bone growth. The site is then closed with sutures.

Over 3 to 9 months the graft integrates with your existing bone, forming a solid new foundation. This healing period varies based on the size of the graft and the location in the jaw.

Once the graft has fully matured, implant placement proceeds as planned. Because all grafting is performed in-house, there is no need to coordinate care between separate offices.

For patients told they do not have enough bone for implants, grafting opens the door to a permanent restoration.

Rebuilding bone prevents the continued deterioration of the jaw that leads to the sunken appearance associated with long-term tooth loss.

When placed at the time of extraction, socket preservation grafting prevents the rapid bone collapse that occurs in the months following tooth removal.

Dr. Kramer, our board-certified periodontist, performs bone grafting on site. No referrals, no separate specialist, no disruption to your treatment timeline.

All-on-6 replaces an entire arch of missing teeth with one fixed, comprehensive solution — upper, lower, or both.

Six implants distribute bite force more evenly across the jaw than fewer-implant solutions — providing a more natural feel and greater long-term stability.

Your new arch is permanently fixed — no removal at night, no adhesives, no slipping, no dietary restrictions.

With proper care and regular checkups, dental implants are designed to be a long-term solution. Results vary by patient, and our team will give you an honest assessment of what to expect during your consultation.
The cost of bone grafting in Manhattan typically ranges from $500 to $3,000 depending on the size and complexity of the graft. Socket preservation grafts performed at the time of extraction are on the lower end. Larger ridge or sinus grafts fall at the higher end. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia so you should not feel pain during the graft. Mild soreness and swelling in the days following are normal and typically managed with over-the-counter pain medication.
Healing typically takes 3 to 9 months depending on the size and location of the graft. Smaller socket preservation grafts are on the shorter end. Larger ridge or sinus grafts may require closer to 6 to 9 months
The most common materials are processed donor bone, bovine-derived bone, or synthetic options. These are rigorously processed and carry no organic material. Dr. Kramer will recommend the appropriate material based on your case during the consultation.
Yes. Socket preservation grafting is performed immediately after extraction and is one of the most effective ways to prevent bone loss. It is often the best time to graft because it avoids a second surgical procedure.
